Formation of Choctaw Tribal Advisory Council, 1976-03-01

The Principal Chief of the Choctaw Nation, C. David Gardner, formed a Tribal Advisory Council to involve tribal members in government affairs. The Council consists of officers from each County Council within the Choctaw Nation and aims to reflect the views of the majority of tribal members. The Council has already made decisions on burial expenses, settlement claims, and land purchases. Chief Gardner presented certificates to the Council members and emphasized the importance of clear communication and expectations within the tribal government.
