Mrs. Juanita Thomas wrote to Congressman Carl Albert expressing concern about the proposed reduction in force at Talihina Indian hospital. Congressman Albert responded, stating that adjustments would be made and some employees would be retained, with nursing assistants given the opportunity to attend nursing school in Albuquerque. He also mentioned that the average employment at the hospital that year would be the highest in its history. Congressman Albert offered his assistance and thanked Mrs. Thomas for bringing the matter to his attention.
