The text consists of a series of letters between Mr. J. L. Pebworth and Hon. Carl Albert regarding a treaty of friendship from 1861 between the Choctaw Nation and the Confederate States. Mr. Pebworth is seeking clarification on certain aspects of the treaty and Mr. Albert is promising to study the matter further and provide any additional information if necessary. There is also mention of a $500,000 trust fund for the Choctaw Indians. The Bureau of Indian Affairs has provided information on this matter in response to Mr. Albert's inquiry.
