 Item — Box: 27, Folder: 17
Identifier: CAC_CC_047_3_27_17_0005
Congressman George B. Schwabe received a letter from the President of Local 401, N. F. F. E. in Muskogee, Oklahoma, requesting his support for legislation to increase the salaries of Federal Employees, particularly those in lower brackets. Schwabe expressed concerns about the number of Federal Employees and suggested that there are too many on the payroll. He stated that he is sympathetic to those in lower brackets but believes that those in higher brackets often benefit more from any pay increases. Schwabe mentioned that he is not a member of the Committee handling the legislation and will listen to the arguments presented in Congress.
