Miss Violet J. Pickrell, a federal employee working for the Corps of Engineers in Tulsa, writes to Honorable George B. Schwabe requesting a salary increase and expressing concerns about the turnover of valued personnel. She also asks for support in striking a Rider regarding unused leave from a pending bill. In response, Schwabe acknowledges her letter, states he will consider her views when the bills come up for discussion, and expresses concerns about the size of the federal payroll.
