In a letter dated August 27, 1951, George B. Schwabe, a member of the House of Representatives, expresses agreement with the views of Uele A. James regarding the wastefulness and inefficiency of federal government operations. Schwabe mentions proposing reductions in appropriations and successfully implementing a $52,600,000 reduction in one appropriation item. James, in his letter dated August 23, expresses disgust at the waste and inefficiency in the armed services and urges for drastic reductions in government expenditures. Both individuals agree on the need for improvement in government operations.
