Mrs. Betty A. Allen wrote a letter to Congressman George B. Schwabe urging him to support Senator Byrd's program to reduce non-essential, non-defense expenditures by 6-8 billion dollars. Congressman Schwabe responded, expressing his commitment to reducing expenditures and wasteful spending, both in non-essential programs and in military branches. He thanked Mrs. Allen for her letter and stated that he will continue to pursue his convictions in Congress.
