Mr. Edward B. Massie requested a copy of General Order 34 from the War Department, which Congressman Schwabe asked Mrs. Virginia Dryden to obtain and mail to him. Massie had previously written to the Adjutant General of the Army questioning the treatment he received for syphilis during his military service. He was seeking clarification on whether the treatment he received complied with regulations.
