Steven Bolutza, a fourth grade student at Mitchell Elementary School in Tulsa, Oklahoma, wrote a letter to Senator Dewey F. Bartlett expressing his support for the extension of Title IV funds of the Indian Education Act. Senator Bartlett responded, thanking Steven for his letter and assuring him of his support for the extension of funds. Steven expressed his appreciation for the Indian Education program and hoped it would continue for other students in the future.
