The American Indian Higher Education Consortium, comprised of six all-Indian-controlled colleges, is requesting support for an amendment to Senate Bill 1017 to assist Indian communities in post-secondary education. The consortium believes that the amendment should provide a formula method for the development, operation, and support of Indian-controlled community colleges. The letter is addressed to Senator Dewey F. Bartlett and is signed by Executive Director David M. Gipp.
