Senator Dewey F. Bartlett writes to Secretary Carla Hills of the Housing and Urban Development department regarding concerns raised by Oklahoma Indian Housing Authorities during recent field hearings. The main issues include the relocation of the Indian Housing Program administration to Denver, inadequate audits of Indian Housing Authorities, and the need for an up-to-date Indian Housing Manual. Senator Bartlett suggests the creation of a Task Force in Oklahoma City to address these issues and expresses hope for further field hearings to address problems in the program's delivery system. He requests Secretary Hills' personal attention to these concerns.
