The Oklahoma Indian Housing Association has sent a position paper to Senator Abourezk regarding Indian housing issues, which is supported by the Intertribal Council of the Five Civilized Tribes of Oklahoma and the United Indian Tribes of Western Oklahoma and Kansas. The Inter-Tribal Council of the Five Civilized Tribes also supports the position paper and requests adequate staffing for the Indian Desk to process housing programs efficiently. They also address issues such as construction costs, income limits for Indian families, and the need for additional housing programs.
