Emmett S. Oliver, Supervisor of Indian Education in Washington State, testified before a committee on the Indian Self-Determination and Educational Reform Act of 1973. He highlighted the Johnson-O'Malley Program in the state, which serves 5,900 Indian students in 42 public schools.
