Senator Pete V. Domenici is drafting legislation to extend and expand the Older Americans Act for three years, including a new Title establishing an Indian Services Program with direct funding to tribes. The bill also authorizes the Bureau of Indian Affairs to convert surplus Indian educational facilities into various community centers. Domenici plans to introduce the measure after Congress reconvenes and is seeking feedback from George Effman and the National Indian Council on Aging.
