Congressman Carl Albert received information from the Public Health Service about the appointment of Dr. Raymond D. Higgins as Chief Surgeon at the Talihina Indian Hospital. Dr. Higgins, a native of Maine, is a 38-year-old Army veteran and graduate of the Vermont Medical School. He will be leaving his home on March 3rd to report to Talihina within a week. Dr. Higgins previously interned at Maine General Hospital and worked in private practice before becoming a resident surgeon at Midtown Hospital in New York City. His appointment fills a long-standing need for a qualified Chief Surgeon at the Talihina Hospital.
