The County Superintendent of Osage County Schools wrote a letter to Senator Carl Albert recommending Franklin D. Shannon for the position of superintendent at the Osage Indian Agency. The County Superintendent expressed a desire to have a democrat appointed to the position to reverse the influence of republicans in the agency. Senator Albert responded, thanking him for the recommendation and expressing that he is not involved in the decision-making process.
