Mrs. Ophelia Adams wrote a letter to Carl Albert, a congressman, asking about the payment for the sale of coal lands by the Choctaw people. Carl Albert responded, stating that payment will be around $300 or better, but it is too early to say when it will be made. He also mentioned that he will do what he can to expedite the process. Mrs. Adams also asked for advice on how to handle the payment from the Indian government.
