Update on Choctaw and Chickasaw Per Capita Payments, 1948-08-18

 Item — Box: 4, Folder: 20
Identifier: CAC_CC_001_4_4_20_0013
The letters discuss the issue of the sale of Choctaw and Chickasaw coal and asphalt lands, and the per capita payment that each member of the tribes is expected to receive. Congressman Albert worked to push through the appropriation for these lands, but it was not successful in the last session of Congress. The expected payment per person is around $300 to $350. The letters acknowledge the inquiry and express appreciation for hearing from Mr. Brokeshoulder.
