Tribal Affairs: A Call for Action , June 5, 1977

 Item — Box: DP 24
Identifier: CAC_CC_001_4_24_66_0001
The Seneca-Cayuga Tribe of Oklahoma has been experiencing difficulties in tribal affairs and has been unable to get help from the Area Office. They have sent petitions asking for accountability of tribal finances and for a new election, but their requests have been ignored. They held a meeting in September 1955 to address these issues and elected new officers, but have not received any response. They are seeking assistance from Congressman Carl Albert to address the unfair dealings and lack of cooperation from the Area Office.
