The letter is from Mr. Earl Q. Gray, an attorney at law, to Hon. Carl Albert, M.C., regarding the status of H.R. 1113 affecting Indian restrictions. Mr. Gray is seeking an update on the bill and any other bills that may affect restrictions on Indians. The response from Carl Albert indicates that H.R. 1113 is pending before the Indian Affairs Subcommittee and hearings have been held on it. The Department's attitude towards the removal of restrictions has become more liberal, but each case is considered individually. There are no other similar bills pending at the moment. Carl Albert offers to keep Mr. Gray advised on the status of the bill.
