The Southwest Oklahoma Cattlemen's Association sent a letter and resolutions to Congressman Carl Albert regarding the restrictions on allotted Indian lands. They believe that the restrictions have been in place for too long and are not in the best interest of the Indians or the country as a whole. They recommend steps to remove the restrictions, such as allowing the removal of restrictions on inherited land and selling land that is no longer needed. They also suggest appointing experienced business people to superintendent offices and amending rules that treat restricted Indians more favorably than whites. The resolutions were adopted in April 1948.
