The letter is from Harry J. W. Belvin, Principal Chief of the Choctaw Nation, to Commissioner Louis R. Bruce of the Bureau of Indian Affairs, expressing appreciation for a response to a letter regarding the selection of the next Principal Chief. Belvin hopes for an objective approach in the upcoming election and criticizes the interference of the Oklahoma City Council of Choctaws in the election process. Belvin warns against meddling in the internal affairs of the Choctaw Nation.
