Dode McIntosh, a chief of the Creek Indian Nation, criticized the release of a report on mistreatment at the Chilocco Indian School. U.S. Rep. John N. Camp visited the school and expressed surprise at the report's contents. McIntosh and Camp both called for accountability and better use of funds in investigating the allegations. McIntosh also questioned the competence of the assistant Indian commissioner for education. The Five Civilized Tribes adopted a resolution opposing the transfer of the school to a private operator.
