Mrs. Keith Hornady of Chilocco Indian School in Oklahoma wrote a letter to Congressman Page Belcher complaining about the increase in rent for quarters at the school. The Bureau of Indian Affairs responded, explaining that the increase was due to oversight in setting utility charges and was necessary to comply with government regulations. The employees at the school expressed their dissatisfaction with the increase in rent, lack of salary raise, and other issues related to utilities and services provided. Congressman Belcher assured Mrs. Hornady that he would investigate the matter and provide information once available.
