 Item — Box: 45, Folder: 8a
Identifier: CAC_CC_004_5_45_8A_0004
Mrs. Albert Brett from Marland, Oklahoma, has been trying to trace her ancestral Indian tribe number with the help of Page Belcher, a Member of Congress. Despite efforts from the Bureau of Indian Affairs and the National Archives, they were unable to locate the information she desired. Mrs. Brett expressed frustration and considered giving up on her search. Belcher offered continued assistance and returned her original letter as requested. The National Archives explained that they could not find any mention of Mrs. Brett's ancestors in their records. The Bureau of Indian Affairs provided an interim report on the inquiry and promised to forward any new information from the National Archives to Mrs. Brett.
