The Concho School Board passed a resolution opposing the phasing out of Indian boarding schools, particularly the Concho School, in response to remarks made by Morris Thompson during his confirmation hearing for Commissioner of the Bureau of Indian Affairs. Congressman Happy Camp reassured the Board that there are many supporters of Indian schools in Washington and throughout the country, and that they will be monitoring the situation closely.
