The Chairman of the Kiowa Tribe of Oklahoma, Bob Cannon, expresses concern to the Bureau of Indian Affairs Commissioner, Morris Thompson, about statements regarding the possible closing of boarding schools in Oklahoma. Congressman Happy Camp reassures Mr. Cannon that there are many in Washington who understand the importance of Indian schools and that hasty closings are not likely. Congressman Camp also appreciates Mr. Cannon's efforts to clarify the Commissioner's comments and wishes him a happy holiday season.
