Mr. Tom J. Dennison, Chairman of the Kaw Indian Tribal Council, wrote to Page Belcher, a Member of Congress, requesting assistance with a land survey matter. Page Belcher forwarded the letter to the Department of the Interior, where it was reviewed by the Solicitor's Office. The Department suggested that Mr. Dennison arrange an appointment with the Associate Solicitor for Indian Affairs to discuss the matter further. Mr. Dennison had previously discussed the case with the Department's attorneys.
