Identifier: CAC_CC_004_7_77_17B_0001
The letter is in response to a resolution passed by the Creek Tribal Council urging the replacement of a building at the Eufaula Boarding School for Indian Girls that was destroyed by fire. The Bureau of Indian Affairs provides information that the building was unoccupied and the school is still operational with an enrollment of about 65 girls. The resolution requests the immediate replacement of the building with a fire-proof structure to continue providing education to Indian girls in need. Congressman Page Belcher assures that he will investigate the matter and provide further information.
