Mrs. Bonnie L. Turner wrote a letter to Hon. Page Belcher expressing concerns about the deteriorating educational program at Ft. Sill Indian School, discrimination against Indian employees, and improper conduct by staff members. The Bureau of Indian Affairs reviewed the complaints and found them to be largely unfounded or overdrawn. They also explained the changing role of Bureau schools in serving students with severe educational handicaps. The Bureau outlined employee grievance procedures and assured that employees have rights and protections. Mrs. Turner's sister, Miss Roxie Plumlee, who works at the school, has faced challenges and frustrations in her work but is being supported by her supervisors.
