Miss Carol Satie received a response from Page Belcher, a Member of Congress, regarding her concerns about the administration of Concho School. Belcher forwarded a letter from Mr. Orme Lewis Jr., Deputy Assistant to the Secretary of the Interior, reporting on the Department's investigation of the school. Belcher stated that in light of the investigation's findings, there was nothing more he could do but encouraged Satie to reach out if further investigation was needed in the future. Satie had initially contacted Belcher after a group of Concho Indian School employees submitted a petition regarding the administration of the school superintendent, Mr. Aaron Dry. The employees requested a neutral member, such as a member of the Civil Service Commission, to be present at the meetings, expressing concerns about the objectivity of the Bureau of Indian Affairs personnel conducting the investigation.
