Proposal for Staff Development and Management Training Activities for Adult Basic Education in Eastern Oklahoma, 1974-07-01

 Item — Box: 121, Folder: 12
Identifier: CAC_CC_001_4_121_12_0003
The Five Civilized Tribes of Eastern Oklahoma are requesting funds from the Weyerhaeuser Foundation for staff development and management training activities for their adult basic education program. The program has been poorly managed by the Bureau of Indian Affairs, resulting in ineffective use of funds and lack of support for teachers and staff. The proposed activities include in-service training for teachers and administrators, as well as management training for professional staff and tribal managers. The budget includes expenses for consultants, travel, per diem, tuition, and materials. The training program is designed to improve the capabilities and competencies of program personnel and build a cadre capable of working with illiterate adults in the region.
