Mrs. W.N. Maben sent a letter to Hon. Page Belcher inquiring about the status of claims filed before the Indian Claims Commission by the Euchee Tribe and the Prairie Band of Pottawatomie Indians. The Acting Commissioner of the Bureau of Indian Affairs responded, stating that final determinations had not yet been made on the claims and suggested contacting the attorneys representing the Indians for more information. Mrs. Maben expressed her belief in Belcher's re-election and requested updates on the claims, as she was not always informed by the attorneys. Belcher thanked her for her support and promised to provide more information once he received a reply from the Bureau of Indian Affairs.
