 Item — Box: 12, Folder: 35a
Identifier: CAC_CC_004_2_12_35a_0022
Mr. Reuben K. Sparks wrote to the Indian Agency at Muskogee seeking information about the heirs of Sam Belew, an enrolled Cherokee Indian who passed away before 1920. The Indian Agency responded stating that there is no one on the approved rolls of the Cherokee Tribe by the name of Sem Belew, but there is a Sam Ballou who was enrolled as a Cherokee Indian. The agency does not have records of his death or heirs, but they do have records of his wife and son. The Indian Agency is checking with the Indian Claims Commission for more information and will provide updates to Mr. Sparks.
