OSHA is seeking comments on its cotton dust standard to review and strengthen it. They are considering factors such as court decisions, new health data, and problems with dust measuring devices. The standard limits worker exposure to cotton dust and includes provisions for engineering controls, work practices, respirators, and more. OSHA is specifically seeking comments on health risks in nontextile industries and may add an "action level" to the standard. They are also interested in data on engineering controls and provisions for small businesses. Comments should be submitted by March 26 to the OSHA Docket Officer in Washington, D.C.
