Glenn English, a member of Congress from Oklahoma, received a response from the Department of Labor regarding the Diversified Industrial Group. The Department believes that ERISA preempts state law in this instance and is aware of the financial state of DIG but cannot confirm or deny an investigation at this time. The Department will keep English informed on the situation. The Department is responsible for administering ERISA, which aims to protect the interests of participants in employee pension and welfare benefit plans. The Department cannot provide further details on the investigation at this time but will do so when appropriate.
