Mrs. Mae Duncan Siebrasse wrote to Congressman George B. Schwabe expressing her opposition to bill H.R. 1272, which has since been superseded by H.R. 2968. The bill was defeated in the House by 49 votes, with 219 voting against it and 170 for it. Congressman Schwabe voted against the bill, in line with Mrs. Siebrasse's views.
