Opposition to Annexation of Osage County by Tulsa: A Resolution from the Osage Tribal Council, 1952-03-03
Item — Box: 27, Folder: 59
Identifier: CAC_CC_047_3_27_59_0010
The Osage Tribal Council is opposed to any annexation of Osage County by municipalities outside of the county, as it would negatively impact the Osage Tribe's property rights and tax base. They are particularly concerned about a potential annexation by the City of Tulsa and have requested that their representatives in Congress oppose any legislation aimed at changing the boundaries of Osage County. The council adopted Resolution No. 18-117 to formalize their opposition and have sent copies to relevant government officials.
