Early R. Cass wrote a letter to George Schwabe expressing concern over recent Supreme Court decisions favoring labor unions and urging Congress to clarify laws regarding extortion by union officials. He also encouraged Schwabe to continue fighting against New Deal regulations. Schwabe responded, stating he voted against the New Deal and agreed with Cass's analysis of the Supreme Court decisions. He also mentioned his support for postponing the enactment of any new laws until after the 1947 elections.
