The letter is a plea to Congressman George B. Schwab to increase the appropriation for the National Institute of Neurological Diseases and Blindness from $1,187,400 to $8,000,000 for 1953. The writer's brother suffers from Multiple Sclerosis and is in need of the Institute's research and support. The funds will be used for research, training, and other purposes to help those afflicted with the disease. The writer hopes for a cure to be discovered soon to alleviate her brother's suffering.
