Mr. Kinmond wrote to Congressman Schwabe expressing concern over the expiration of the Premium Price Plan in the Tri-State mining district, which would have disastrous effects on businesses in the area. He urged the congressman to support the continuation of the plan to prevent the shutdown of mines and the disruption of businesses dependent on the mining industry. Congressman Schwabe responded, assuring Mr. Kinmond that he is familiar with the situation and will do his best to prevent unfair discrimination resulting from changes in policy. He also criticized the New Deal philosophy and emphasized the need for increased production and less regulation.
