Correspondence Regarding Premium Price Plan Payments on Lead and Zinc Mines, 1946-06-30

Item — Box: 6, Folder: Unknown
Identifier: CAC_CC_047_1_6_17_0010
The document is a series of letters between George B. Schwabe, M.C., and Walter Levi Lewis regarding the payment of premiums on copper, lead, and zinc for mining operations in the Tri-State District. Schwabe informs Lewis that the Reconstruction Finance Corporation will continue making these payments retroactively from June 30, 1946, until June 30, 1947. Schwabe expresses frustration with the administration for not making these payments sooner and blames them for the situation. Lewis also sends a telegram to Schwabe urging support for the old price control law and reinstating rationing of food.
