Mr. Kriste sent a brochure to Mr. Schwabe regarding rent controls and the effect of the OPA. Mr. Schwabe expressed interest in quoting from the brochure in the Congressional Record and appreciated Mr. Kreiter's contribution to his thinking on the subject. Mr. Kriste highlighted the shrinking supply of rental units due to rent control policies and the increasing costs of office space rentals, leading to some apartments being converted to offices or demolished.
