Mrs. A. J. Mauldin wrote to George B. Schwabe asking him to uphold the O.P.A. without restrictions, but Schwabe responded that he does not support the O.P.A. and will vote against its extension. He believes the O.P.A. has done more harm than good and is un-American. Schwabe notes that the majority of letters he has received from constituents are also against the O.P.A., including farmers. He emphasizes that he respects differing opinions but stands by his convictions.
