Resolution in Support of O.P.A. Extension and Price Controls, 1946-05-13

Item — Box: 6, Folder: Unknown
Identifier: CAC_CC_047_1_6_30_0018
The letter from the Veterans of Foreign Wars Moore-McCoy Post No. 2688 to Representative George B. Schwabe expresses their support for the extension of the O.P.A. and urges him to reconsider his vote against it. They mention that they have been receiving letters from constituents who are against the extension of O.P.A. and believe that those in favor of it are mainly from industrial areas controlled by political machines. Representative Schwabe defends his vote against the extension of O.P.A. by stating that he represents the majority opinion of his constituents, as shown in a referendum he conducted. He believes he made the right decision and stands by it.
