Item — Box: 6, Folder: Unknown
Identifier: CAC_CC_047_1_6_31_0014
The letter from Mr. Webster urges Representative Schwabe to take a strong stand in favor of extending the Price Control Act and strengthening enforcement. Mr. Webster also suggests placing a ceiling on used houses, implementing rent control, and sponsoring a bill for rent control throughout the United States. Representative Schwabe responds by stating that he conducted a referendum in his district which showed majority opposition to the continuation of the O.P.A. He appreciates Mr. Webster's views and believes that the American people should express themselves on controversial issues.
