Identifier: CAC_CC_047_1_6_3_0008
Mrs. Gordon Roberts wrote to Congressman George B. Schwabe asking for his help in getting the Townsend Bill on the floor of the House. Congressman Schwabe assures her that he has always advocated for old age pensions with only two qualifications, and that he will do what he can to help. However, he mentions that the New Deal crowd has a majority in both Houses of Congress and can pass or defeat any bill they choose. Congressman Schwabe expresses frustration with political "pie-eaters" and assures Mrs. Roberts that he will continue to support the cause of the aged.
