Mr. B. F. Carnahan, representing the Parent-Teachers Association of Central High School, sent a telegram to Congressman George B. Schwabe requesting that efforts be made to ensure that young boys are given one year of training before being sent into combat. Schwabe, who has children who graduated from Central High and have served in the military, agrees with the sentiment and is planning to address the issue in Congress. He expresses his sympathy for parents of young soldiers and promises to use his power to address the situation. Schwabe appreciates the telegram and offers his assistance to Carnahan.
