Congressman George B. Schwabe responds to a telegram from Mr. and Mrs. Garrett regarding their concerns about 18-year-old boys being placed in combat service with only 13-17 weeks of training. Schwabe expresses his opposition to this policy and mentions that he will continue to voice his protests. He also shares that his own son is in the army and that he sympathizes with all parents with sons in the conflict. Schwabe assures the Garretts that he will insert a well-written letter on the subject in the Congressional Record.
