Rep. George B. Schwabe received a letter from Mrs. Leona Yoakum expressing concern about young boys being sent into combat without proper training. Rep. Schwabe, who also has a son in a similar position, has been advocating for better treatment of these boys and recently met with President Truman about the issue. The U.S. Senate passed a bill to require at least 6 months of training for young boys before they are sent into service. Mrs. Yoakum shared the story of her grandson who went into training at a young age and was sent overseas, expressing concern for his safety. She urged Rep. Schwabe to take action before it is too late.
